ENGIM Conference in Vadstena 19 - 23 of September 2012

WELCOME to the 10th European GIM conference hosted by ENGIM and organized by Expressive Arts!

With its beautiful lakeside setting, VADSTENA is a charming historical town, about a three hour commute from Stockholm. At one time a royal seat and an importannt monastic centre, the town's main attraction nowadays is its gorgeous moated castle, Vadstena Slott. This castle was built in the sixteenth century by Gustav Vasa as part of his defensive ring to protect the Swedish heartland around Stockholm. Vadstena's cobbled, twisting streets, lined with cottages covered in climbing roses, also hold an impressive abbey, whose existence is the result of the passionate work of fourteenthcentury Saint Birgitta, Sweden's first female saint.

The theme of the conference is
"Spiritual Dimensions of GIM - Body - Mind - Soul and Music"
and we will honour the legacy of Helen Lindquist Bonny. Vadstena is a most fitting place for this event as Helen's father was born here, and it is an ancient site of spiritual practice and still very much alive today. We are delighted to host this conference at the stunning and historic Kloster Hotel located right on the waterfront.
